Palletising or Palletizing is a process whereby a machine provides automatic stacking of cases of goods or products onto a pallet. It’s been around since at least the 1950’s but with 6-axis robotic arms and mobile robots now coming to the fore, prices have tumbled.
Manually placing boxes on pallets can be time consuming and expensive; it can also put considerable stress on workers and result in OH&S / WHS issues.
Robotic palletisers have an end of arm tool (end effector) to take the product from a conveyor or layer table and position it onto a pallet. The end of arm tooling has evolved in recent years to accommodate a variety of package types and patterns.
Depalletising or Depalletizing is simply the reverse of Palletising, whereby cartons or cases are taken off pallets and placed on to a conveyor or shelf.
Repalletising or Repalletizing is the combination of palletising and depalletizing whereby cartons or cases are moved from one type of pallet to another e.g. from International pallets to Australian standard pallets or European to International etc.
We integrate some of the most cutting-edge 2D, 2.5D, and 3D vision components with flexible and robust end of arm tool designs to create robotic picking solutions perfect for goods-to-robot operations, pick and place applications, mixed load depalletizing or even quality inspections and machine tending. Our solutions are capable of picking even the most complex piles of products. These systems can be designed in a modular fashion allowing new products to be easily introduced into a system and identified by the robot.
It’s now increasingly possibly to use collaborative robots and even mobile collaborative robots for all of the above processes. However generally greater speeds, reach and payloads can be achieved with more traditional industrial robots.
Quantum Robotics can create for you a customised HMI (Human Machine Interfaces) so your staff can simply touch an icon to have the robot palletise or depalletise a specific type of package or carton, different quantities, different configurations and patterns etc.
Quantum Robotics can supply your company with a complete turnkey solution, with conveyor infeeds and outfeeds, safety light curtains, access control and intuitive HMI’s.
